The History of Open Gate - La Strada Macedonia

Founded in 2000 as a “Women’s Lobby and Action Against Violence and Women Trafficking”, Open Gate has become the leading Macedonian anti-trafficking non-governmental organisation. The increasing number of women victims of trafficking, on the rise in the Republic of Macedonia, was the main motive behind establishing the “Open Gate.”

Thus, our mission statement was formulated:

to fight for women's rights, to protect and support women - victims of violence and human trafficking.
